Herbal Medicine — Practitioner Statement

“Integrative health is the focus of my medical practice. But what is integrative health? Is it just the absence of disease? When I began my practice twelve years ago – this was the perspective from which I worked. I have expanded my attention to look at the whole person– the mind, body, spirit and community relationships in the context of individual health. I work with patients to help them re-evaluate life style habits in diet, exercise, stress reduction and time management, specifically focusing on active prevention of disease and more importantly enhancing a richer lifestyle.

I will include in my discussion matters of spirituality. Family conferences are something that I welcome. Food and exercise are invaluable tools in the nourishment of the body and soul. In addition, I have extensive experience with the use of Western botanical preparations as I have spent many years in the Pacific working as a physician where other traditional cultures played an important role in my practice. I have an honorary research fellowship at the New York Botanical Gardens where I continue to study the use of herbal medicines by traditional societies in the Pacific Rim. I derive great pleasure in helping to heal those with chronic disease and those that wish to work on preventive aspects of their health.”
