Yoga — Practitioner Statement

“Restorative Yoga is a gentle form of yoga which uses props such as pillows, blankets and eye pillows to support the body in passive poses. This allows the body to maintain each pose with little or no effort so that a gradual stretching occurs as the body moves with gravity. Restorative Yoga calls for a surrendering into each pose and moving into stillness which allows for a deeply relaxing and healing experience. I believe this practice to be especially beneficial for anyone dealing with illness, stress-related disorders or for our own nurturance and self-care.”
Deborah Matza, RN, certified Integral Yoga instructor
